Thumb Sucking

Stacey Marks images of Amber Tamblyn give us this sense of habits and the changing and growing of them. There is this relationship between the sucking of the thumb in one image and exhaling smoke in the next. Its as if the hair colour represents a different person, with a different attitude and different views.

Polaroid Number 14

The polaroid above is by photographer Lina Scheynius from a set of 100. The image represents beauty and the becoming of a girl into a women. This is the image I received from my Father for my 21st Birthday.

Grandad Bill

There is something so real about polaroids, as the viewer you feel like you were part of the moment where the photographer pressed the shutter and took the image.

The images above are part of a current project which I did not know I was going to do until I took the first polaroid. The images needed to be quick and capture what is really there, involving his surroundings and him himself, as these images will be seen as the last images taken of William Eccleston.

Marcio Simnch

The Suns shining and I see the beginning of Summer on its way and what better way to start the Summer than by looking at these simple and light images by Marcio Simnch.
As she twists and turns you see the different details of the girl and the clothing some of which touched by shadows, as if showing the gradual change of the season.

Obsession

These images are from a series called, Fay, photographed by Ed Watts.
There is this sense of obsession from these images, the way we see the girl Fay from a variety of angles from her looking down to viewing her crouching on a chair.
The expressionless face gives this idea that we as the viewer only see her from the outside.
After looking at Ed Watts series of portraits of chairs standing alone. The way the Fay has occupied the chair shows the importance of the girl to the photographer.

The Beginning of my blog

Day one and after looking endlessly through many blogs I thought it may just be time to start my own.
Even as I am starting now I am finding it hard to decide how my blog will start or even end.
So I begin my blog with my own images taken from a recent personal project.

Father and Step Mother

The images above are looking at the difference between males and females reactions and expressions with the relationship between the observer and the observed.
